Strength and Durability Characteristics of Stabilized Compressed Laterite Soil Bricks

Abstract

In this experimental investigation the required numbers of test bricks were moulded for the various percentage proportionate of laterite soil, such as, 91%, 90%, 89%, and 88%, stabilized with various percentage of cement stabilizer viz 4, 5, 6 and 7%, respectively, along with 5% addition of sand constantly; compacted with a hydraulic press paver block and brick making machine. Based on the obtained results laterite soil bricks can be used as a substitute to conventional burnt clay bricks.
