Seismic Analysis of G+10 Storey Building Using Structural Light weight and Normal Weight Concrete

Satyam Radhavallabh Bhandari, S.A. Bhalchandra

Abstract

Concrete is considered a slight weight concrete which has density of less than 2000 kg/????3. The Structural Lightweight Concrete (SLWC) is mainly used to reduce the dead load of concrete structure. The purpose of this research is to examine and compare the results of Structural lightweight concrete by adding perlite with Normal Weight Concrete multistorey building. Often these multistorey buildings are constructed of ordinary concrete, steel, and other materials, and are subjected to heavy loads, requiring heavy construction and may not be cost-effective. In this paper, a G+10 multistorey plan irregular building is analysed using the Response Spectrum Method and Time History Analysis with Structural lightweight concrete and Normal Weight Concrete. Overturning moment, storey shear, storey drift, storey displacement are considered and the results of NWC and SLWC buildings are compared.
