Experimental Study on Behavior of various FRP on strength properties of concrete

G. Lalitha, C. Ritvik Reddy, S. Aslam

Abstract

Fibre sheeting is an effective way to repair structures that have become essentially fragile greater than their living expectancy. A lot of research is currently being done on the use of fibre sheets and overlays all around the world. In comparison to traditional repair frameworks and materials, FRP frames are a more cost-effective option. The purpose of this study is to experimentally investigate the behavior of GFRP, CFRP, and BASALT sheets on concrete. The concrete members were strengthened using the sheets with epoxy fortification. In this study concrete specimens were casted and, and each specimen was individually wrapped in CFRP, GFRP, and BASALT sheets with Araldite Epoxy for adhesion. The primary objective of these sheets is to increase a flexural and tensile capacity of concrete members, as well as for rehabilitation purposes. Although they are convenient to use these sheets provide a protective barrier that protects the steel rebars from further corrosion This manuscript includes a comprehensive methodology and capabilities of CFRP, GFRP and BASALT for RC beam strengthening, and the impact of flexural capability of CFRP, GFRP and BASALT were examined.
