Experimental Study on Partially Replacement of Fine Aggregate & Coarse aggregate by Waste Marble with addition of S-Fiber

K. K. Pathak, N.S. Vaidkar

Abstract

Today’s world is a concrete jungle. With the ever increasing population of the world, in general and the developing countries there is the tremendous pressure on the Civil Engineer to develop a cost effective as well as ecofriendly structure to fulfill the need of the human being. Concrete is a heterogeneous mixture of binding material (cement or lime), coarse aggregates, fine aggregates (sand) and water. Fine and coarse aggregates are acquired from quarrying of large rocks. This has carried with a great destruction to the environment. And further the disposal of the huge amount of demolition waste was another problem & it cannot be recycled. Marble has been used as a replacement of Cement, fine aggregates & coarse aggregate in several literature works. It ultimately helps to evaluate recovery and reuse of by products coming from destroyed buildings & marble processing industries.Laboratory experimentation was carried out to analyze the performance of M40 grade mix cases were casted and tested. The strength effect of concrete of various amount of replacement of Coarse& fine aggregateby 10% to 50% with Waste marble and 3% of S-fiber. The resultant concrete was tested for parameters like compressive strength, slump, Flexural strength and split Tensile Strength compared with conventional concrete.
