Projects in Accelerated Conditions

Abstract

The work aims in identifying the causes of delay in construction projects and the acceleration techniques adopted to overcome them. Questionnaire survey with experts from industry was used for generation of data and analyzed using Relative Importance Index and Spearmen’s Rank Correlation Coefficient test. On analyses it was noticed that project complexity, labour challenges and resequencing of activities are the main barriers impacting the timeline for construction projects. Various acceleration techniques were found to be effective in putting the project on track, of which the most reliable has been to increase resource and work on shifts to accomplish goals
