Development of a Rutting Model for Bituminous Mixes Using Experimental Data

I. Srinivasa Reddy

Abstract

In recent years, the amount and severity of rutting on bituminous pavements in India has been increasing due to the ever increasing traffic volumes, overloading and the high summer temperatures. Extensive research work has been directed throughout the years for creating models to predict the advancement of rutting in bituminous mixes and pavements, yet with restricted achievement. The laboratory rutting tests were conducted on bituminous mixes prepared with various aggregate gradations, bituminous binders, binder contents, air voids and test temperatures. The development of rutting model with the laboratory experimental data using SPSS software has been presented in this paper.
