A Review Study on Comparative Seismic Analysis of Irregular Shaped Multi-storeyed Structure With and Without Infill

Abstract


In this study, we focused on the behavior of infill wall and plan irregularity on seismic performance of multi-storeyed high rise structure during various earthquake ground motions. A mostly L shaped structure; residential type structure with 15 storeys has been modelled with all its parameters. This structure includes four lifts/wells in its entire plan at mid-section and parking is provided at the base storey. A regular plan with the same area is modelled and analyzed all regular and irregular structure with a difference of five 5 storeys till fifteen 15 storeys. We performed the dynamic time history analysis with different ground motions with Indian earth quakes like koyana and also street valley earthquake as out of India. The analysis is takes place by using SAP 2000 software and also with the Etabs 15. All the regular and irregular structures are analyzed by considering bare frame i.e. without infill and with infill as a diagonal strut, and the results are compared.
