Priyanka Vijaykumar Baheti, D.S. Wadje

Abstract

In this paper, increased awareness for the need to evaluate and improve the seismic performance of flat slab without periphery of beam. There are several numbers of factors affecting the behavior of building. Stiffness irregularity in vertical direction is one of them, and as a result of which soft storey is formed. In the this paper work a parametric study is performed on flat slab without periphery beam with infill wall 230 mm thick and shear wall 150 mm thick panel provide at G+4, G+8, G+12 storey with Rectangular shape panel made of infill wall and shear wall provided at center at periphery of building, L shape panel made of infill wall and shear wall provided at corner of building e panel made of infill wall and shear wall provided at center core of building in seismic zone IV for medium soil condition. It is intended to describe the comparative performance characteristics such as modal time period, axial force, base shear and storey stiffness and height against displacement. The work is carried out on a building with the help of different mathematical models considering various methods for improving the seismic performance of the flat slab without periphery of building. The equivalent static analysis is carried out on the entire mathematical 3D model using the software ETab and the comparisons of infill wall and shear wall panel models are presented. Finally, the performance of all the Flat slab models is observed in high seismic zone IV and medium soil condition.
