Research on Partial Replacement of Fly Ash and Superplasticizer on Self Compacting Concrete

Deepak Mishra

Abstract

In this project I have proposed a mix design procedure for self compacting concrete achieve the target mean strength in which mixes are designed on the basis of Indian Standards and suitable adjustments are done. The amount of fine aggregates, coarse aggregates, cement and mixing water as well as the dosage of superplasticizers to be used as a major factor influencing the properties of SCC in the plastic stage as well as in the hardened concrete. I have also replaced cement with the help of fly ash to see the difference in the strength of the concrete. In plastic stage slump flow, V- funnel, L -Box test and in hardened concrete compressive strength were carried out to observe the performance of SCC and result indicates that the proposed method could produce successfully high quality SCC.
