Mathematical Model for the Predictionof Compressive Strength of High Performance Concrete (HPC) Containing Saw Dust Ash and Superplasticizer

Temple Nwofor, Sule S., Ebirien-Agana M.G

Abstract

This paper examined the prediction of compressive strength of High Performance Concrete (HPC) containing Saw Dust Ash (SDA) and Conplast SP 430 (superplasticizer), using Osadebe’s regression theory. The model developed was tested for adequacy at 95 % level of confidence using F-Statistic and was found to be reliable. A computer program written in visual basic 6.0 based on the model formulated was invoked for quick prediction of the mix ratios corresponding to the desired compressive strength value. Also, the experimental and predicted results were compared at different points of observation and were found to be almost identical.
