Implementation of Airport Construction Management

Iffat R Arisa

Abstract

In this article, Micro PAVER is used to analyze present condition of Neil Armstrong airport facilities. It also predicts the future condition and develop ways for pavement maintenance based on available funds and conditions. The airport infrastructure system is divided into several networks, branches, sections, sample units and the types, severity of distresses are identified for those units. Weather, traffic and maintenance are considered to develop prediction model for pavement condition. To assess pavement condition, Pavement condition index is observed which decreases with age. It is found that in 10 years, the Weighted Average Condition of the Network decreases from 63.37 to 38.13, without any M&R activities. The annual deterioration rate is -2.5. The need of maintenance & rehabilitation is properly accessed by the analyses performed.
